The SWING 5.i printer is of the "mobile head" type. It is fitted on "intermittent"packaging machines and prints while the machine is stopped. Print head orientation can be set in the four quadrants in relation to the direction of the film. Printing is performed at high speed withcomplete thermal ribbon saving (both between one printing operation and the next and between the last and first printing operation of the cycle).The return stroke of the print head is performed during feeding of the film of the packaging machine. The rubber-lined print surface is usually fastened to the structure of the printer. In the case of very wide film, it can be separated from printer and installed on a separate support.

On the "multi-tracks" packaging machines, the Print Unit is normally installed in a crosswise position. Printing is performed by the print head which slides on the film in a crosswise direction. During its stroke, the print head prints a text repeated several times according to the number of "tracks" to be printed. It can print up to width of 128 mm and for a total stroke of 520 mm (Model SWING 128.i.t). The number of times printing is repeated can be set up to 99 tracks.
